"In their order, the judges said the case was an eye-opener for those who were yet to marry. They said that especially in the case of arranged marriages, the prospective husband and wife should get to know each other and see if they could live happily together. "It is the duty of (both sets of) parents to consider various aspects before the actual marriage takes place.""

  1. too much independence for women will bring disaster for family...both husband and wife should have a controlled life..
what is freedom? drinking.smoking, socialising? all these will take women to disaster only...women should first learn how to utilise the liberty they get by not abusing it.we are seeing so many girls especially IT sector behaving like rocket scientists in their behaviour because they make money in a very young age..they have no virtues of life..
For me , a nice family will be a hard working ,money earning husband who loves his family first, then a well qualified wife who dedicates her life for the kids and family by being a home maker. If both parents work, then kids life will become miserable..
I am 200% willing to be home maker if my wife can make money like me....
the problems they would face in work area....it is numerous and heart breaking in India...This is my humble idea..
In fact my M.sc graduate wife is the love of our lives for me and my kids as she dedicates her whole time for us.....hats off to her and she owns a Rado, citizen,an Iphone and ofcourse a CR-V apart from a 3 crore worth home and another flat worth 2.5 crores...kids love her the most and she is my life...does she want more by going to work?

    1. Thanks for your reply Mr. Prabhu. My post was not about Ladies working after marriage. My point is about the liberty to choose. You have given a very clear definition of what you want from marital life. And you have a lovely wife who is in sync with your Ideas which makes ur life beautiful. Thats how I wish every marriage should be. Everybody has got some ambition be it male or female and its not right to club together two people with opposing ambitions just because their communities match. So Marriage should be more about making a choice based on your interests not on your community. So Why dont people insist on prospective couple getting to know each other even in arranged marriages. Thats my point. You made points about women's liberty and women in IT industry. Its ur opinion and Im not going to criticize it. But I just wish to say I dont accept your views. You have given me an Idea. I will try to post my views about the issue sometime.
P.S. I have copied ur mail id but deleting your next comment else people might spam you.. Hope you dont mind. Thank you.
